Tariff group 2: what heavy vehicles actually pay at the tolls
Above 3.5 tonnes permitted total weight the vehicle is in tariff group 2, and the price per passage is usually two to four times a car's. In Oslo a lorry with a Euro V engine pays NOK 161 outside rush hour and 223 in it; with Euro VI it is 109 and 162. Rush hour on weekdays 06:30–09:00 and 15:00–17:00 applies to the lorry just the same, and the hour rule applies in most rings to tariff group 2 too. The tag is mandatory for every vehicle over 3.5 tonnes registered to a business, Norwegian or foreign, but it gives no discount: the 20 per cent is for tariff group 1 only. Same road, same five toll stations. The tolls cost 2.3 times more, the fuel 3.8 times more, and the drive as a whole 3.4 times more. That is the number that belongs in the quote — not the car's.
Ferries by length
AutoPASS ferries price by total length including any trailer. A car is AP1 (up to 6 metres); a van with a trailer is soon in AP2 or AP3, a lorry in AP5–AP8, a road train in AP9. The fare rises step by step with the class, and on the west coast the ferry is often the largest single item of the trip. The classes and fares are explained on the ferries page. A prepaid AutoPASS ferry card gives businesses 40 per cent off — private customers get 50 — and pays for itself in the first month for a vehicle that crosses daily. The calculator's "AutoPASS ferry card" uses the private rate; if you have a business agreement, we put in the 40 per cent rate for you.
Fuel with your figures
The average consumption we use for a car says nothing about a lorry. Your own consumption and your litre price — the contract price from the card supplier, not the sign at the station — are applied to the kilometres actually driven. Ferry decks are not counted. Foreign vehicles and drivers
Same rates, same tag requirement over 3.5 tonnes. Without a tag the plate is photographed and the invoice comes from Epass24 with a fee. Roadme shows prices in 37 currencies and speaks 25 languages, so a driver from Poland or the Netherlands sees the bill in their own.
